Family Counseling

Our therapists are dedicated to helping your family find the key to clear communication. Through a variety of therapeutic approaches, we work with you to identify, explore, and resolve problems together. Our goal is to help families build fulfilling relationships that support individual growth and a healthy environment.


We offer family counseling for a wide range of concerns, including: 

  • Therapy for families experiencing any issues of concern
  • Therapy for families experiencing divorce
  • Pre-adoptive interviews for those with adoption concerns, including single individuals, lesbian and gay singles or couples, and inter-cultural or inter-racial adoptions
  • Reunification-focused counseling sessions for families where a family member is re-entering the home after a significant amount of time away, whether by court order or other circumstance
  • Parent education workshops

Pre-adoption Interview

Attachment/bonding is the biggest challenge and the greatest reward in adopting a child of any age. In Pre-adoptive sessions with the child, using play therapies, a therapist will make a diagnosis of the child's social and behavioral skills, as appropriate for their age, taking into account the child’s history. 

When adopted, a child is thrust into unfamiliar situations. The child may have already been moved more than once in their young life or suffered neglect or abuse. Pre-adoptive sessions identify problem areas that could get in the way of healthy attachment between the adoptive parent(s) to assist their child with the adjustment. 

Family may opt to continue working with a therapist once an adoption is underway. 

Family Reunification

The reintegration of a child, adolescent, or adult into the family home after a period of separation can be challenging for everyone involved. Whether the separation was due to Child and Family Services (CFS) involvement, a court order, or other circumstances, reunification therapy can provide invaluable support to the entire family during this transition. 


Our therapists specialize in techniques that promote bonding and facilitate the reunification process. We work closely with families to establish a strong foundation that encourages full participation from each family member, fostering the development of new and healthy relationships between siblings, children, and parents.
