Counseling for children, adolescents, and families

YWCA of Contra Costa/Sacramento is here to support you and your children through difficult times. Our skilled therapists specialize in working with children and families, and we can assist in rebuilding family connections after a court-ordered separation through reunification therapy.

We offer support for children, teens, and families facing depression, anxiety, abuse, and other mental health concerns. Our goal is to help families live together happily and safely. We work with children and their families individually and collectively to navigate challenges and build stability in an ever-changing world.

Our mental health therapists utilize a variety of techniques, including Theraplay®, an attachment-based approach that fosters connection and trust within families through play. While our primary therapeutic approach is cognitive behavioral therapy, our therapists also incorporate humanistic and psychodynamic techniques. Additionally, we offer pet-assisted therapy for children, teens, and families to address trauma and attachment issues.
