Bay Point Delta Highlights

Our Full-Day, Preschool is lead by our Head Teacher / Site Supervisor, Moises Cendejas with assistance from Associate Teacher, Sandra Fernandez and Classroom Aide, Amadeus Medina,

The Part-Day Pre-school is closed for summer recess but will reopen in August. This classroom will be lead by Head Teacher, Maria Castro. Our food prep / floater is Joana Magana and she is new to our team

At the Delta center during June, we have been learning healthy foods and nutrition. We have discussed the food pyramid and explored the different levels to it. The children learned to assign a fruit, vegetable, protein, dairy, grain, and a sugar (fats) to their appropriate spot on the food pyramid. They also created their own food pyramid with paper, egg cartons, and markers.

The children did art painting their favorite fruit and vegetables and experimented with water and oil. They have practiced letters of week, writing with book observations of the monthly theme and counted their numbers by observing the seeds in their fruits.

Throughout the monthly theme, they have also learned to explore their learning during free play with different manipulative toys and curiosity with fun activities! They have continued this outdoors with water play, bean bag toss, hula hoops, bubbles, bike riding, and playground fun!

We look forward to exploring the world of transportation this July and all the fun experimenting while expanding the curiosity in learning.

Meet Moises Cendejas - Head Teacher / Site Supervisor

A man with a beard wearing a blue shirt and tie smiles for the camera.

Hello! My name is Moises!

I have worked for the YWCA for 1-1/2 years, and in the field for nearly eight years.

Teaching children, advocating, and mentoring children to be their best and happiest is what I enjoy. I love to laugh and make the children laugh as they learn. I understand that each child is learning new concepts, ideas, and subjects; therefore, making them smile along the way is key. I also understand that each child learns at a different pace; there is not one single way in teaching a child.

I am Mexican American and bilingual. I believe in equality and each child has their own method in learning. I am a sports fan and root for local teams but also appreciate each players talent.  Movies, Disney, Marvel, Harry Potter and traveling are my interest. And my best friend, is my wife of five years!
